Services

More than ordinary medicine!  Drs. Acree, Brasfield, and Lindsey offer detailed services which allow them to make a thorough assessment within the office.  Services include:

Bone Density (DEXA) Minimize

Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry scans are used to determine a patient’s risk for osteoporosis and osteopenia.  DEXA scans are more accurate than x-rays, require less radiation exposure than CT scans, and are less costly than most other related tests.  Peabody Family Care has the technology to perform this test on the ankles and feet.

Ultrasound Minimize

Pelvic and abdominal ultrasounds are used to check for disorders such as cystic fibroids, cystic ovaries, and pelvic inflammatory disease.  Ultrasounds are also used to check the growth of a soon-to-be newborn!

In-House Labs Minimize

To assist the physicans in making an accurate diagnosis, our lab performs tests including complete blood counts (CBC), urinalysis, protime, strep, and pregnancy.

X-Ray Minimize

X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, generated at a high voltage to penetrate the tissues and bones, thereby taking a picture which can be used for diagnosis.  By offering this service in-house, we are able to make many diagnoses during the visit, rather than scheduling our patients at another facility.

Smoking Cessation Treatment Minimize

According to a 2004 report from the U.S. Surgeon General, eliminating smoking can greatly reduce the occurrence of coronary heart disease and other forms of cardiovascular disease.  Peabody is excited to offer a focus on smoking cessation, through both medication and behavior adjustment, to patients wishing to quit.

Diabetes Management Minimize

Diabetes is a disorder which creates an impaired glucose cycle in the body, and thereby alters a person’s metabolism.  Our treatment of diabetes includes dietary alterations, oral medications, insulin injection, and maintaining proper circulation.

Hypertension Management Minimize

Also referred to as “high blood pressure,” hypertension affects over 30% of America’s 20-and-over population.  It is one of the primary risk factors for strokes, heart attacks, and heart failure, and is also a leading cause of kidney failure.  Our physicians treat hypertension as a serious matter, helping our patients with lifestyle and dietary changes, medication management, and close monitoring of their situations.

We look forward to providing these and many other services to you, as we work together to improve your wellness.
